Elephant Hill Triumphs at the 2011 New Zealand Royal Easter Show Wine Awards taking home a Champion

The gorgeous and wildly popular Elephant Hill 2010 Central Otago Pinot Rosé triumphed at the 2011 New Zealand Royal Easter Wine Show taking home the Champion Rosé - Novotel Auckland Ellerslie trophy at a lavish gala award ceremony held in Auckland on Saturday March 19th.  This win follows hot-on-the-heels of the recent three trophy win in Sydney for the Elephant Hill 2009 Syrah. 

Made from 100% hand-picked Central Otago Pinot Noir fruit, the Elephant Hill Rosé is fast gaining a cult following. Released in September, it’s the perfect wine to enjoy al-fresco, and is a firm favourite of our restaurant, Cellar Door and international customers.   

“Every year we travel to Central Otago to check on the quality of the Pinot Noir fruit. Together with our growers we ensure that the best fruit is selected and hand-picked for our Rosé.  We’re passionate about making the best possible Rosé from the best fruit.  This wine is also a testament to our customers who, every September can’t wait for the new Rosé release,” said winemaker Steve Skinner.
