Elephant Hill 2009 Syrah wins International Trophy at Decanter World Wine Awards 2011

Elephant Hill’s 2009 Syrah won an international trophy for best Red Rhone Varietal over £10 at the Decanter World Wine Awards.
As one of the wine industry’s most coveted international wine show, all wines were tasted by a judging panel comprising of 214 expert judges and 30 Regional Chairs including 58 Masters of Wine.

Elephant Hill 2010 Syrah Hawke's Bay 94 Points 5 stars

Elephant Hill has quickly established as a serious Syrah producer. And this is another stunning effort that will only get better with time. It's beautifully perfumed on the nose displaying dark plum, cherry, spice and floral characters with a hint of nutty oak notes. The palate is ripe and generously flavoured with velvety texture and fine, supple tannins. Perfectly harmonised, this refined expression of the variety is quite gorgeous to drink now already. At its best: now to 2016.

Elephant Hill Le Phant 2009 Hawke's Bay 93 points 5 stars

What a lovely wine. A blend of Merlot/Cabernet Franc, it's ripe and richly flavoured while showing restraint and structure. The nose is beautifully fragrant, displaying dark plum, cassis, spice and subtle cedary oak characters. It's succulent and smooth, and beautifully defined on the palate with a pleasant dry finish. At its best: now to 2015.
