2009 Elephant Hill Le Phant

Elephant Hill is a producer of premium Hawke’s Bay wine. Located on the Te Awanga coast, our vineyard enjoys a temperate, dry climate and an extended growing season. Cooled by afternoon sea breezes our shingle vineyard allows us to grow wines that display wonderful fruit purity and elegance.
The 2009 Elephant Hill Le Phant is a new wine for us: a Merlot/Cabernet Franc blend, from a very warm season which resulting in a spicy, ripe fruit-driven wine which partners food beautifully or is perfect as a glass on it own.
The grapes were harvested by hand and carefully de-stemmed to an open top cuve and fermented vigorously over a twelve day period, then gently pressed to new oak puncheons. Slow malolactic fermentation in barrel and minimal intervention has created a classic, elegant Le Phant blend.
Black fruits, mocha and herbes de provence flavours subtly merge to offer a long lingering finish. Ripe black doris plums continue to fill the palate alongside delicious undertones of crème caramel and cinnamon.

Delivery

All goods are insured up until the point of delivery. All deliveries in NZ are by courier and direct to your door. A street name and number is required. No deliveries are made to P.O Box addresses. We cannot accept responsibility for delivery to unattended addresses.

Returns

If a wine you have purchased from us is in some way faulty, we will replace it upon your request. Any breakages or shortages must be reported to Elephant Hill Winery within 24 hours of wine being delivered.
