2009 Elephant Hill RoséSilver Medal New Zealand International Wine Show, 2009This 2009 Rosé is made from 100% Pinot Noir fruit. The grapes were selected from the Three Miner’s vineyard in Alexandra, Central Otago and shipped as whole bunches to our Te Awanga winery. The grapes were gently destemmed, crushed and cold soaked for four days before being pressed. The juice was then fermented in a stainless steel tank at a cool temperature. Elephant Hill’s 2009 Rosé is a refreshing, fruit-driven wine with well balanced acidity. Hints of strawberry and black cherry complement the savoury, red fruit flavours, creating a wine that can be enjoyed with or without food. The stunning salmon pink colour is typical of Rosé made from Pinot Noir.
